This year's Bike Rodeo, hosted by the City of Yellowknife's Municipal Enforcement team was a success! Kids of all ages flocked to the Multiplex where they showed their skills at the different obstacle courses. Yellowknife Mountain Bike Club
was on hand to tune-up bikes in need of repair, Lakeshore Coop fed the masses, and Cycling NWT also helped the officers at the stations.
Along with volunteering at skills stations, SHIFT Bike Share YK set up a super fun Traffic Garden in chalk in the parking lot of the Multiplex.
This paves the way for a more permanent project we will propose to the City of Yellowknife- a permanent Traffic Garden for ALL ages to access and learn more about the rules of the road and create more skilled riders. With
A huge thanks to the municipal enforcement officers, face painters, McDonald's, Signed and all of the other sponsors and volunteers who made this year's Bike Rodeo so amazing!
Stay tuned to see if the City of Yellowknife agrees with SHIFT NWT's proposal to build a more permanent Traffic Garden so that people can learn the rules of the road all summer long!
