This coming Saturday morning (weather dependant) Jared will be broadcasting the Weekender from the SHIFT Parklet in front of Barren Ground Coffee!!
It looks like a cool day, and so far the forecast is calling for a mix of sun and clouds so hopefully no rain.
If you're in Yellowknife Saturday morning, come down and say hi!
Jared Monkman from the CBC Weekender broadcasted from the parklet from 6-9am, and Barrend Ground Coffee opened their doors bright and early at 7am so that people could grab a hot coffee and hang out!
The Parklet that was constructed by SHIFT NWT and YK Healthy Urban Policy Team has become a great community resource, it's not just for customers of the cafe but for anyone who wants to sit down and hang out!
People tuned in or visited in person to hear and share stories about community building, and a positive vision for the future of Yellowknife, and how third spaces are essential to connecting with our neighbours.
Once again, this is totally weather dependant. If it's pouring rain Saturday morning Jared will broadcast the show from the studio and try again Sunday morning.
And because of the cool weather, dress warm! There will be blankets!
